Welcome to Blackheath Wanderers Tennis Club. We are part of Blackheath Wanderers Sports Club (BWSC), which has 2 cricket teams, adult/vet/children's football, ladies netball, and indoor bowls as well as tennis.
We play tennis - mostly doubles - 6 months/year on our 4 grass courts, and on our hard court year round (sometimes in some pretty nasty weather, too!). We have 3 tennis teams in the North Kent League - Mens, Womens and Mixed. And we have an active calendar of social tennis - club night is every Thursday from about 6:30-7pm until dark (or under the hard court lights). Club day is typically Sunday afternoon. There's a monthly tournament on a Sunday morning, either a champagne breakfast, or a wine and cheese lunch. The club tennis is very friendly and sociable. We share a club pavillion with the other sports sections with a full bar, changing rooms, and a kitchen (which comes in handy for those breakfast tournaments!). We have members from the age of 10 up to 70+, and all ages in between. We don't have a full time coach, but we do welcome new players all the time and a few of us have some pretty good tips for beginners. Blackheath Wanderers is LTA affiliated.
